Magical Christmas market in a perfect castle setting

点评：So far I've only visited Schloss Guteneck/Guteneck Castle for its annual Christmas market, but it has quickly become one of my all-time favorites. The setting is already impressive on its own, and when combined with the medieval flair of the market, it creates an absolutely magical ambience - especially when darkness sets in and the entire place is beautifully lit.
Admission is not free, unless you come in medieval attire, which further adds to the market's theme and encourages the medieval spirit of the event. The Christmas market itself has a great selection of diverse stalls, with plenty shopping and food options - yet without being as crowded as some other Christmas markets I've been to. I particularly enjoy the booth selling Mutzbraten as well as the wonderfully and humorously named "Lord of the Onion Rings".
Schloss Guteneck isn't just about the Christmas market, either. During the warmer months the beer garden there is open, and throughout the year the castle grounds host a variety of different events, including medieval banquets and a medieval fair.
If you're looking for a unique Christmas market, Schloss Guteneck is an excellent choice. The combination of castle setting, medieval theme, and fantastic food and sales stalls makes it a memorable experience - one I wholeheartedly recommend.
