Excellent views of the Tamar Valley from this lookout named after a convict who was hanged.

点评：This rest area and lookout is located along the West Tamar Highway approximately 20 klms from Launceston heading north towards Beaconsfield.
There is a car park located next to the highway and the lookout reserve has a large, albeit mostly uphill grassy area, with some undercover BBQ facilities and a toilet block (although this was locked).
A short sharp uphill walk takes you to the lookout where you are rewarded with some great views up and down the Tamar Valley, which was in flood when we visited.
The lookout is named after Mathew Brady who was transported from England as a convict, escaped custody (after several unsuccessful attempts) and became a bushranger whose gang camped in the bush nearby to the lookout. Captured again Brady was subsequently convicted and hanged in 1826. Brady was 27 years old.
