Feels like in Europe during winter's Marunouchi Illumination

点评：WHAT it is and WHEN to go:
We were there during winter, and it was pure romantic under those starry, starry, fairy lights. Found out that the lights were part of the "Marunouchi Illuminations" that runs from late autumn (early December maybe?) to February (great for Valentine's too I guess!). Also being winter, it gets dark from 4pm so perhaps good to go early because it gets pretty chilly from 8pm onwards.
WHAT TO DO THERE:
Other than the 1+km street (aka Naka-dori Avenue) of lights, there were also plenty of (permanent?) art sculptures on the wide pavements, and they even blocked some roads for the special art exhibition just for winter. What we loved most was that there were temporary caraven-booths from established cafes (some were from the five-star hotels along this street), where you can get your Christmas items such as chocolates, german sausages (yes that's a thing in Japan for Christmas), and red mulled wine that's meant to be enjoyed during Christmas. Pretty cool to enjoy sipping on a cup of non-alcoholic warm mulled wine with beautiful maple leaves all around you, you'll feel like you're in Europe rather than in Japan. Oh, there's also an ice-skating rink for kids. Only in winter. We came out the other end after a slow, 20-minute stroll and arrived at Hibiya Park, where the famous ticketed Tokyo Christmas Market was being held!
WHERE AND WHAT ELSE TO SEE outside winter:
We walked from Tokyo Station, but you can also walk from the opposite way from Otemachi/Yurakucho from Nijubashi Station. Other than the winter lights, the street itself is lined with numerous high-end stores and hotels, some small malls, and we saw several limousines parked and waiting to pick up their special guests. Cool street to check out even when it's not winter.
