点评:We visited on International Women’s Day, so the family members conducted tours of this private museum.
After paying 30k kip each, we were guided to the 2 story wooden building and shown the step by step method of producing silk with explanations in English. A row of floor looms demonstrated the weaving of cotton/silk into intricate patterns using frogs, elephants, hens and other animal figures to show their relationship to nature. Upstairs were finished works and cabinets of intricate weaving.
A 2nd building was all about dyeing the fabric in indigo with demonstrations by a man with blue stained hands showing the plants, pots and the process of adding line and acid to make the finished blue fabric.
The final building, a traditional house, displayed exceptional quality finished works that were for sale. Here we were served a blue Butterfly Pea flower tea, with a lime that turned its color to purple.
This 5 building site is enclosed in a peaceful garden enclosure.
