It is located inside the Burg (castle) complex within the historic Old Town area, just a short walk from the main square (Hauptplatz). This quirky yet fascinating attraction is basically 2 intertwining spiral staircases that meet and then part again, symbolically creating an effect of unity and separation, thereby lending it the moniker "The Staircase of Reconciliation".
