Do not miss this impressive centre of art, culture and performing arts of Tanzania

点评：This place was so impressive! We had a tour of all the buildings and learned about the history of this performance center, toured their one of a kind outdoor theater space, watched a detailed demonstration of all kinds o traditional instruments from the area including being able to try some, a drumming lesson where a charismatic teacher taught us a piece that sounded pretty good for us non-musicians if I do say so myself! Next we had a dance lesson and were able to perform this dance after just a half hour of patient teaching by an extraordinary dancer. There was also a chance to see three different types of homes used by Tanzanian cultural groups in the vicinity and learn a bit about each group. The best of all these memorable experiences was an over the top and energetic dance/drumming performance by about a dozen musicians and dancers. We were floored by the quality, precision, and showmanship of these performances. The school has beautiful, accessible spaces for study, rehearsal and performance. They have a 6000 volume library too. Finally we enjoyed a delicious meal cooked by a chef in an all outdoor kitchen. It would be a shame to visit this area and not spend half a day here like we did. Unforgettable!
