点评:We went to Mukesh Art gallery on the way back from Pushkar to Amer. Everyone in the party (ages 73 to 12) was tired, hungry, and not really in the mood to art. Stepping inside the gallery we instantly felt like we had stepped away from the hustle bustle, and within a few minutes of conversation with the curator-owner, each one of our electic party was excitedly looking at art. He took the time to ask about our aesthetics and about the space we would place the art work, as well as our budget. He patiently introduced to us works both within and outside our budget as a way to expand our understanding of the "pichwai" tradition. I felt this was very useful and informative rather than just sticking to our price range. Also, we gained a lot of information and perspective from the curator and did not feel like we were being talked down to.
In the end, we purchased a modern mixed media piece (rather than a traditional pichwai). But we will be back soon and will buy more!
PS: my 12 yo fell in love with an art piece that was ......meh (IMHO). We tried to dissuade her and she agreed. In a very pleasant surprise, they gifted the piece to her! We now have a happy and budding art collector!
