点评:It’s a lift. An impressive lift I’ll give you that, but o used it as part of a four ‘attraction’ deal just to reach the Castillo de la Concepción and not pass away in the 38° heat!
I have a fear of heights which I can usually manage, particularly when I have the kids with me but as they were having a beach day I thought I’d have a day getting in some of the history of the city so I was alone in the lift. It’s glass and the window goes down to the bottom of the lift, there’s also a metal spiral staircase that wraps around the lift shaft so I don’t know if it was a combination of these two things or just the height but half way up I was starting to have a bit of a panic attack and grabbed the handrail next to the lift, the staircase is the type you can see through so I was bothered I’d have to try and walk along the straight section from the top of the lift to the castle but thankfully it was only the first couple of feet otherwise I would’ve gone back down instantly!
Glad I went up as the walk would’ve killed me, but it was most certainly a means to an end!
