Lovely Course but Poor Off-Course Service
Sigona Golf Club的点评
点评：Sigona sits on the outskirts of Nairobi so it is a decent taxi/Uber/Bolt ride from most of the city hotels (probably 45-50 minutes dependant upon traffic. It took us over 90 minutes to return in mid-afternoon).
Booking & Reception
Easily done via there Whatsapp which, unusually in our experience; they did use/respond. Availability outside of member competitions is pretty good. As with other clubs, the reception staff were not 'welcoming'. They did what they had to but without any real enthusiasm. This is such a shame as, in other areas (the course starters, the greens-staff etc) were all excellent.
Golf Course
This is a lovely course although the 1st and 18th (which you'll see on arrival) are both very narrow and quite intimidating holes. The remainder of the course is a bit more forgiving but still heavily tree-lined throughout. There are plenty of changes in elevation, a large variety of trees and shrubs, and plenty of variety in the holes, all of which contribute to a very enjoyable round. Sigona is quite close to one of the main roads to/from Nairobi but you'll only be aware of this on two or three holes and even then, not to any great impact. The rest of the round will feel very much like you're in the countryside. The course was very nicely maintained and presented with good greens. Good value at 3500kes on weekdays and 1200kes for a caddie.
Food and Beverage
A very poor experience. Service was slow and disorganised (despite there being very few people in the restaurant/bar. The quality of food was also very poor (only a club sandwich but still not good at all). Asking for a receipt proved to be almost too much trouble for the waitress. Not a good advert for the club.
Overall
Lovely course, if on the slightly 'tougher' side, but very enjoyable. Good staff around the golf operations but less-so in reception and the bar/restaurant. Worth a trip for the golf alone, but eat elsewhere.
