点评：Two friends and I stayed with Dot and Alex at Markham House for two nights between Christmas and New Year. In short: it was awful.
There was just too much wildlife. Everywhere you looked—penguins. But they stink, because Dot and Alex don't wash them. Ever. And don't get me started on the dolphins, or the seals, or the whales, or even the birds. It was just too much. How can you possible enjoy yourself when every moment something new pops up? It was exhausting.
And everyone raves about Dot and Alex's hospitality, but what they don't tell you is that they're just total show-offs, serving lamb from their own farm, or locally caught toothfish, or custard made from scratch. Alright, I get it, you're great cooks using local food. Boring!
Honestly, if perfection and beauty and great hospitality are your thing, I guess this is the trip for you. For me, it was unbearable. The only thing that was alright was Dot's driving, which was OK - for a woman.
