点评:What I saw was fascinating history, but I think I missed a good half of the museum. I entered via the top floor, and went through two galleries there. The first is about mainly the cod fishing industry in St. Pierre. Lots of cases and paintings, with the descriptions in both French and English. There is a gigantic mural devoted to life in the fishing village. In fact I think they built the museum around this. It's quite impressive. Behind the mural is a second gallery that had the role of St. Pierre during US/Canadian Prohibition. Since alchol was still legal in France, the locals became very rich importing it and sending it on to the US and Canada! This alone is well worth a visit. However I think maybe there were more history exhibits on the ground floor and the staff never told me?
