Double Lake Recreation Area的点评
点评：Built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corp, now repurchased by the National Forest Service since January 1st, 2024, from a private company, DLRA was a very pleasant surprise. Relax and get in touch with nature with a variety of tent, RV, and group sites available. Some of the sites are somewhat sloped making leveling difficult, but most are very wooded and not on top of each other. The40 RV sites include 6 pull-through sites and a couple of double sites. About half of these sites have full hook-ups while the other sites have water and electricity only. Contrary to popular belief, there is a dump station- it's on pull-through #29. The RV, tent, sites and day-use sites surround the 23-acre lake. You can bring your boat; however, only small electric motors are allowed on the lake. A few of the longer hiking and biking trails were closed to storm damage (including Hurricane Beryl), however there's still plenty of trails to enjoy. The recreation.gov states that there is a concession stand near the swimming area, however the park staff informed me that the stand has been closed for a few years and the NFS isn't sure what they are going to do with it. I can't say enough about the camp host. They do a tremendous job, and they are all friendly, informative and dedicated. The rest rooms/shower facilities are somewhat dated, but very, very clean. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing camping, picnicking, hiking, biking swimming, kayaking, boating, or fishing experience, then Double Lake Recreation Area is the perfect place to be!
