Double Lake Recreation Area的点评
点评：I threw my kayak in the truck and paid my $7 as a scouting mission for the possibility of a future family camping trip.
The good: it’s remote and quiet. The forest is beautiful and the campsites are nicely secluded.
The lake is largely spring fed with the clear tea-colored water that’s the best East Texas can offer.
The swimming area looked pretty nice and was mostly clear of weeds. I didn’t get in though.
The bad:
As others have mentioned toned, infrastructure has not been maintained. The docks are sketchy and although I didn’t go inside any of the restrooms some of them appeared quite run down. I really appreciate the asphalt path around the lake but it’s badly damaged and not nearly as accessible as one might assume a paved trail to be.
The lake is totally choked with lily pads. Unless something drastic is done, you can leave your kayak and fishing poles at home.
