Too steep a rocky path for a 79 year-old.

点评：I found the path/climb to the obvious Bee Rock Overlook too challenging for me. The stone "steps" are very rounded, and I turned back after negotiating the first few up to a level "landing", In front of me was a relatively steep climb up rounded steps, with no handrail or handholds. I was not able to walk back down without the assistance of a couple who "rescued" me.
(I am a 79 year old male, in reasonably good condition, but I am not up to "scrambling" up a rocky path.)
I saw other couples and individuals going up to the overlook and returning - they didn't seem to have any problems.
I did see a path to what was probably the outlook to the west (mentioned in another review), and the path past the "Private Property" sign and the inn.
Note: the "public" path has a Town of Monterey sign.
For a scenic drive in the area, I suggest US 70N from I-40 Cookeville exit 290 to the Monterey exit 300. There may be other scenic drives - I am not familiar with the area.
