点评:Hamelin Bay Beach is a popular destination within the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park for beachgoers and those interested in seeing the string rays that frequent the shores near the old Jetty. You can spot them swimming and feeding in the shallows up and down the beach but they do seem to congregate and spend more time at the boat ramp and old jetty.
We visited around 9am midweek recently and found just a few other people here initially. This allowed less obstructed and better overall time with the rays. You can step out into the shallows and they will gentle swim past you, up to you check you out and even bump into if you remain still. Just remain calm and enjoy yourself and your time with the rays.
As more and more people arrive, some zealous types try to touch the rays or chase them down to get close. This disturbs them a bit but they seem so used to humans at this point that they weren't fazed much from what we could tell. Fun watching the rays and excited visitors as well. Worth a morning of your time if staying in the National Park and Margaret River area.
