点评:Not having played the Jones course since the early 70's when it opened it was interesting to see how it had matured over the years. The layout is basically unchanged with the maturation of trees giving better definition to sight lines. Once superbly conditioned it is now a below average muni with traps poorly maintained and rough that is cut an inch too long (we played as it was being cut). Staff was disinterested and there was no sense of course etiquette or safety observed by the grounds crew.
Clearly the course is being operated to maximize revenue while minimizing maintenance expenses. The result is the bones of a first rate course with the flesh of a poorly maintained muni with 5 hour rounds the standard as a result.
If you choose to play mange your expectations downward so that there is a chance you might enjoy your 5 hours.
