Absolutely fabulous experience!

点评：My wife and I received a Groupon voucher for Christmas to do a wine tasting experience. When we looked it up, we realised it was over an hour away from where we live which wasn’t an ideal drive back when you’ve had something to drink so we combined it with an overnight friend visit nearby.
We were also a bit sceptical about whether this would be a private experience or a group one, but as it turns out it was just the two of us which was great.
We were welcomed very warmly, even though the ambient temperature was more suited for keeping your wines very drinkable over time, we were taught all the things that we needed to know as budding connoisseurs, also were offered a great selection of wines and charcuterie nibbles.
Mike asked us about our wine preferences and took those into account when selecting which wines we taste, and taught us how to judge a wine like they do in international wine competitions.
On top of these, the exercises we had to do during the tasting sessions kept us engaged and entertained. Mike truly knows this wine 'shtuff', and it transformed all the initial doubt into rather glorious excitement, leading to an amazing experience.
Mike's style and storytelling is quite captivating and it allowed us to truly understand things to which we were completely oblivious, understand that cheap wine is most likely not made out of a great deal of actual wine, and why buying quality wine is essential to one's true enjoyment and health (e.g. don't drink wine-based stuff...).
Having had the chance to try a variety of wines, and a few other liqueurs, such as cognac (brandy), we ended up buying 6 bottles of wine and 2 of brandy.
We have opened 2 so far and are looking forward to opening all of them as soon as we want to celebrate various things in our lives.
Thank you once again, Mike, it has been an absolute pleasure, and we will be recommending this experience and your wines to our wine loving friends!
