点评：Wow! It is hard to believe that a world class bird refuge is in middle of the cornfields of Indiana! We were awed by the multitudes of migrating sandhill cranes in February singing, flying and feeding all around Goose Pond. We saw over 30,000 migrating birds each day-- over head, on ponds and in fields. We heard them calling to each other long before we saw them. I wish I could attach a video so you can hear them calling to each other. We were privileged to see 9 of the remaining 70 Eastern Whooping Cranes near the Goose Pond Visitor Center waterways. One day we were lucky to see over 10,000 Snow Geese. This is a bird lovers paradise. February has a local festival called Marsh Madness during migration but only marketed to the locals. Catch the birds when they migrate or just enjoy the daily nature views.
