Located just a short drive southeast of town, this massive catchment is a local favorite for skiing, jet boating, and canoeing when the water levels are looking healthy. If you’re a fisho, you’ll be stoked to know it’s well-stocked with golden perch and Murray cod, making it the perfect place to set up a camp chair, crack open a cold one, and wait for a bite under the shade of the gums.
The facilities around the lake are top-notch too, so you don’t have to rough it too hard. There’s a sweet picnic area with free BBQs, plenty of lawns for the kids to muck around on, and proper amenities to keep everyone happy. Whether you're pulling up in the caravan for a proper stay or just dropping by for a yarn and a sausage sizzle at sunset, it offers a classic, laid-back country vibe. It does get a bit dry during long spells, so it’s always best to check the levels before you hitch up the boat and make the trek.
