Great potential but needs attention to detail

点评：We booked in advance due to the popularity, and it was easy to see why. Oris and Promise’s knowledge of the bushveld and birds was excellent, and both of them made an effort to socialise with the guests.
However, several issues detracted from the overall experience. Oris and Promise were late for both morning and afternoon walks, leaving guests waiting at the prearranged departure times. On game drives, Oris’s consistently high speed made the experience uncomfortable and detracted from what should have been a relaxing opportunity to view wildlife. At dinner, he would often arrive in his sleeping attire and even take personal phone calls at the table when guests were trying to engage in conversation.
The boma fire — usually a highlight of bush experiences — was never lit. Instead, a small fire was made outside the kitchen, leaving us gathered around a makeshift setup with little atmosphere. Around camp, brooms, mops, and spades were left lying about, which gave an impression of poor organisation.
Maintenance issues also stood out. There was no hot water in most bathrooms, and on our last day, we ran out of gas completely as all three cylinders were empty. Unfortunately, the hot water issue has been mentioned in reviews over a year ago, yet it still remains unresolved. Towels and linen are also due for an upgrade.
With better supervision, improved organisation, and more attention to detail, this camp could easily deliver an excellent experience to match the guides’ impressive bush knowledge.
