点评：This is a sacred and spiritual site and therefore a guide is required to explore. It cost us 1500 ARS to enter and another 8000 ARS for the long (3hr) hike with a guide. Our Argentinian friends paid the local rate of 4000 ARS. The guide spoke only Spanish so we were very thankful for the translation by our Spanish speaking friends. The guide had extensive explanations and stories to tell about this natural wonder. This is a truly magical and breathtaking place. Hiking in this desert climate surrounded by brilliant red rocks and formations was almost hard to fathom- it was that beautiful. Everywhere you look is awe inspiring . The hike along the Canyon of 13 turns ended in the Amphitheatre where we were joined by another small group and treated to Indigenous music and stories. We then continued on for the second part of the hike where one can see the white peaks of Cerro Vela and more brilliant red formations. You can then hike to the cave and through a very narrow crevice to the top. It was an fascinating and uplifting day.
We took the bus from Tilcara for 2000 ARS and were dropped off on the main highway just outside of Uquia. It is a 20 minute walk from there to reach the trailhead.
