Altes Rathaus mit Glockenspiel的点评
点评：The Old Town Hall building at Rathausplatz in Esslingen is a charming building that was originally built 600 years ago in 1424. It is well preserved, you can see medieval half-timbered exterior of the original construction on the back side of Altes Rathaus.
The front of Altes Rathaus facing the square was remodelled in Renaissance fashion by Heinrich Schickhardt (1586-89). The facade is very beautiful and adds much ambience to the square. The astronomical clock (glockenspiel) was added in 1592. It plays daily at 8:02am (except on Sundays), 12:03pm, 15:02pm, 18:02pm and 19:32pm if interested in hearing the bells play a tune while spending time around Rathausplatz.
Just in front of Altes Rathaus you will also see an Eagle Fountain (Adlerbrunnen) that is the work of Jakob Wilhelm Fehrle (1931) replacing an early version from the 14th-century.
