Good crossings between Don Sak and Koh Pha Ngan

点评：Took the car ferry to/from Koh Pha Ngan. The ferry operation is fairly organised, but still very Thai.
Car passengers need to embark/disembark via the passenger bridge, while the car driver goes on to the car deck. It’s no problem to stay in your car, which many do. Leaving the engines on filling the car deck with diesel fumes. People smoke on the car deck, while there are clear ‘no smoking’ signs everywhere.
Seatran lets you change tickets for a small fee, unlike the other ferry operators however, there was an issue with changing my ticket for the onward journey. This took a couple of lengthy conversations on Line. In the end they managed to change it, as I did pay the charging fee but the booking online did not change and lead to various error messages. Turned out they only changed the car plus 1 driver, and not the 3 passengers brining my wife and two children. We had to sort this at the ticket office which took a lot of time as we had to convince them the error was on their side.
Oh the inward journey we could not dock, with, at some points, three to four ships floating in front of the pier. This lead to an hours worth of delay, with zero information about the cause of it given. So be mindful when planning tight connections.
If you have to chose between ferry operators and prioritise safety, chose Seatran. And not the other one.
