点评:Friday 12th September we visted this Beach, which is adjacent to Haven Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, where we were spending the night.
As it's name suggests it is a sandy beach located in a secluded bay on the Devon Coast. It runs for roughly 1.6 kilometres (almost one mile) and enclosed at each end with red stone cliffs. There are also cliffs at the back of the Beach.
Despite the autumnal weather conditions, it was cloudy, blustery and rain was threatening it was a beautiful sight. Looking down the coast there were views towards Budleigh Salterton in one direction and Exmouth and it's estuary in the other.
When we were here the tide was out which created a wide expanse of red/brown wet sand, rock pools and caves at the foot of the cliffs. We could actually see people down on the sand exploring the rock pools
At this low tidal time the Beach is connected to the beach at Exmouth.
From the cliff top we walked down the steep slope, with it's anti-slip surface, to the edge of the Beach.
At the foot of the ramp there was a shipping container which becomes a bar due the summer season. It was closed when we were here.
Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months. The South West Coast Path runs across the clifftop at the back of the Beach.
