点评：To put it simply, our two day trip from Phong Nha to Hue via a night in Khe Sanh was one of the most incredible experiences we’ve ever had. It’s a journey we will never forget and it was made possible by four of the friendliest, most helpful riders you could meet. As a family of four, (54, 53, 24, 21) we booked two days, 220km along the Ho Chi Minh trail from Phong Nha to Khe Sanh, a night in Khe Sanh and then another couple of hundred kms to Hue. The first day was nothing short of spectacular. We were almost alone on the Ho Chi Minh trail, riding through mountains, jungles, visiting remote villages, seeing a very different side of Vietnam to the usual tourist route. Khe Sahn was the same, a Vietnam that isn’t built for tourists, dinner was probably my favourite night of our three week trip despite the two star hotel (it had air con, WiFi and a bed; it was all we needed). The second day allowed us to see the traffic of Highway 1 but also the serenity of swimming in waterfalls with no one else to be seen. This is not a trip for the faint hearted, it’s not the usual ‘up and over’ the Hai Van pass that is full of tourists on the back of bikes, it’s an adventure where you feel you are getting off the beaten track. It’s a journey you will never forget. This trip, this team, was the absolute highlight of three weeks in Vietnam. Book it, do it. You won’t regret it.
