We met the owners in their former neighborhood in Philadelphia and decided to take the 45-minute drive to their winery. Wonderful wine, good pizza, great staff, and a lovely setting. Totally worth the drive.
We are guests and frequent visitors to your wonderful country.
The greeting today from Kelly was more hostility than hospitality. I have NEVER in the US (that we love) been made to feel more unwelcome.
Visiting with a group of eight friends and being told we could not sit together because ‘our tables are designed for 6’ is simply appalling customer service a a very poor business decision from front of house. We could have walked away however
the occasion was rescued by a more customer focused waitress who was so helpful and combined a 6 table with a 2 table and hey - happy paying customers!!!
The products- pizza and wine were superb as was the table service which was faultless - the only bad taste was the initial hosting.
As the manager of a leading visitor attraction in the UK I understand the importance of feedback and customer reviews- your host has the opportunity to turn assassins for your business into ambassadors - on this occasion, based on my experience, she let you down badly.
We had a wonderful tasting here with friends who live locally! We each had a flight and shred a GF platter. The wines were very good - I wish I could have brought more back to canada with me!! Will definitely be back!!
This winery used to be one of my favorites to visit nearby. The biggest issue yesterday when I visited were the bees. For someone who is allergic to bee stings I felt very uncomfortable. I don't mind as much the carpenter bees which there were tons of but they also had a lot of wasps. I heard quite a few people complaining about the same thing. Something definitely needs to be done about the bee issue. In addition, they used to have a nice grassy area out back with tables. They dug up the grass and its now just dirt and random stones. I could maybe see if it was all thick stones but nope, its a lot of dirt and stones somewhat mixed in. Totally takes away from the ambiance. The last thing I will say is that we walked in without a reservation at noon when they opened and were told they had no tables outside. We left, went to get gas and I went online and was able to book a table for outside for 12:30. So why the hostess did not seat us when we came in I have no idea. But I did go back after being turned away since I reserved online. I do really enjoy the wines and pizza they offer but the hassle of the hostess and then with the bees I don't think I'll be back until maybe the Fall.
Hubby and I stopped in on Valentine's Day for some wine before our dinner reservation later on. We love this winery and were not disappointed (as usual).
I got the Wine Flight and Chocolate Pairing and my husband got a special Valentine drink. It was all delicious! And our server was friendly and fun.
Stopping here just added to the delightful day we had, as Valentine's Day is also my birthday and we were making a day of food and antiquing.
The place was full of life and it was a pizza night on Saturday. Wine tastings $5 but you get the glasses. The wine selection is good - your whites, reds and sweet and fruity. Places to sit and relax inside and outdoors. The botega is surrounded by nice vineyards which enhance the atmosphere.
